19. Sending multiple copies
Effective Communication: How Many Copies Should You Send?
Too many people will send an E-mail, then send a fax and make a telephone call with the same information. When it is sufficient to leave a voice mail message, following up by E- mail with the same content is redundant. There may be times when it is necessary to cover
all of the bases, but not often.
For example, I might call to remind you that there is an E- mail waiting for you with information on the project that we discussed. That is efficient. But going through all of the details again is not necessary.
